One of the most special parts of what I do is givi One of the most special parts of what I do is giving mums the gift of seeing their love through the eyes of their children. It is a love that they live every day, but rarely stop to see reflected back at them. After sessions many mums thank me for capturing the most beautiful photos, but the truth is the beauty is already there. My role is simply to create the space where that love can unfold, and then to hold up the mirror so they can see it shining.

Josie and I have shared a lifetime together. We became friends when we were only four years old. We grew up side by side, travelled across the world, laughed, cried, laughed until we cried. We chased sunsets from Oia to Cabo and partied until sunrise in New York City.

Thirty six years of memories weave us together, and still this moment stands apart. After a year of gently encouraging you to step in front of the camera and honour your journey of motherhood with your beautiful boys, you finally said yes. And of all the sunsets we have shared, this average Thursday afternoon after school pickup in Sydney has become the one I will hold dearest, because it is the memory of you as a mother, glowing with love, stronger and more beautiful than any view we have ever seen.

If you are ready to capture your motherhood journey, I would love to hear from you. I’m now taking bookings from November 2025 as I have only a few sessions remaining until then.

Gentle content note: this story shares a journey o Gentle content note: this story shares a journey of fertility treatment and motherhood.

Dear Alexander,

One day you will ask where your story began. And when you do, you will learn that it was written long before your first breath. It was written in courage. It was written in hope. And it was written in a love so powerful it carried your mother through the waiting, the heartbreak, and the prayers that one day she would hold you in her arms.

At thirty eight your mother chose to give her dream of motherhood a chance. She froze her eggs with the quiet faith that love would find a way. For two years she walked through treatments, each one a test of her strength, each one a reminder of how much she longed for you. There were days she wondered if the dream would ever come true. And then, when the path seemed almost too heavy to walk, one frozen egg carried the spark of you.

From that moment, everything changed. You became her miracle. You became her reason. You became the light that spilled into every corner of her life. Sometimes motherhood does not look exactly the way we imagined it, but it arrives in the way it was always meant to be.

When the world looks at you and your mother, they see more than a family. They see a bond that is unshakable. They see the way you move as though you share one rhythm. They see how you and your mother speak in a language beyond words. They see the way you look at her with complete trust, and the way she looks back at you with devotion even greater.

Imagine growing up with the knowledge that you are so deeply loved that your mother walked through years of treatment, uncertainty and heartbreak just to hold you in her arms. That is your beginning. That is your truth. And that love will follow you for the rest of your life.

If you’re ready to celebrate your motherhood journey or would love to capture this moment in time with your children, reach out today so we can start planning your session. I am now almost fully booked until November 2025.

Welcoming Baby Lily + Celebrating Layla’s Mother Welcoming Baby Lily + Celebrating Layla’s Motherhood Journey

Layla works in fashion. She is raising two beautiful children and she does it all with heart. Remi, now three, is personality plus, a little showman who lights up every room. Lily, her gorgeous newborn, is a reminder of new beginnings and the power of love. Together, they are her why.

Layla is extraordinary. She oozes style and radiates warmth. You see it in the way Remi shines with confidence and joy, and in the way her husband admires her quietly, even when she does not notice. Between feeds and nap times, she is also building her own fashion label, Layla Poet, @laylapoet a brand born from creativity and resilience. She wears her two crowns with strength, grace and beauty.

As women we carry many responsibilities, but two stand at the centre. To show up fully as mothers. And to show up fully for ourselves. Our paths may look different. Some women have to work. Some choose to. Some build businesses. Some choose home. Every path is worthy of honour, respect and celebration.

This is the legacy we leave on our children’s hearts. Resilience. Vision. Passion. Love in action.

I am working on new sessions that honour motherhood in a different way and I cannot wait to share them with you all.

Welcoming Baby Ella ✨✨ In my newborn session Welcoming Baby Ella ✨✨

In my newborn session with Ella and her parents Jess and Ben, I found myself, as always, looking for light. It is something I naturally seek when I walk into a home, watching how it filters through windows, dances across a wall, or brushes softly against a face. But this time the light seemed to be looking for me as well.

Despite the fact that it was the middle of winter, beams of sunlight found their way into every corner of the house. They created warmth on a cold day, wrapping Ella in a soft glow as though the house itself was protecting her, holding her safe within its light. Instead of searching for the perfect patch, I was surrounded by it, invited to simply notice and receive.

What made it even more meaningful is that Ella was named after her maternal great grandmother Helen, a name that means ‘light’ or ‘bright one’. And here she was, this little girl, bathed in sunshine that seemed to follow her through every room, as if her very name had summoned it.

Moments like this happen often in my sessions. You could call them coincidences, or you could call them synchronicities. Maybe they mean nothing at all, or maybe they mean everything. What I do know is that when they happen, they leave me with a sense of quiet wonder. A reminder that beauty is not something we always have to force or create. Sometimes it is already waiting there for us, appearing just when we need it the most.

Welcoming baby Jayden ✨✨ Motherhood often fee Welcoming baby Jayden ✨✨

Motherhood often feels like an endless game of shifting priorities. If the washing is done, then maybe the meals aren’t prepped. If the house feels clean, then perhaps the kids’ clothes for the next day haven’t been laid out. If the lunches are ready, then work may have been left behind. There is always a trade-off, and the constant reprioritisation rests quietly but heavily on our shoulders.

So often, if one area of life feels like it’s thriving, another is quietly paying the price. That’s the rhythm we grow used to. But what if, just for one hour, you gave yourself permission to stop shifting the levers. What if you chose to be present with your newborn, your baby, your toddler, and simply stepped into the frame.

Because of course you should think of yourself. Of course you deserve to exist in these memories, not just as the one who kept everything running in the background, but as the mum who was there, holding, laughing, loving. The washing can wait, the lunches can be made later, but the chance to capture these fleeting moments will not come again. These are the memories you and your children will carry for a lifetime.

Reach out and let me show you how easy I make each session, so your only role is to arrive and savour the memories.

And to the gorgeous Jess and Nathan, thank you for welcoming me into your home to capture your special new beginning with perfect baby Jayden.

Welcoming baby Henry earthside ✨✨ As a photog Welcoming baby Henry earthside ✨✨

As a photographer, I am invited into so many moments of joy and love. When I photographed Henry with his parents, I saw a love so complete it filled the room.

I see variations of this love in every home I enter. While the expression of that love may be different, one thing remains the same, the wish that their baby will be safe, healthy, and feel the depth of love that surrounds them.

One day, Henry, you will be grown. You will have your own dreams, your own adventures, your own stories to tell. You will walk into a world that will shape you in ways no one can yet imagine. But right now, you are small in your mother’s arms and yet you fill her whole world. You are the centre of everything she holds dear.

Every glance, every touch, every quiet breath you take is a moment she wants to keep forever. These days are made of the tiniest details, the way your fingers curl tightly around hers, the warmth of your cheek against her chest, the stillness in the air when you sleep and all feels safe.

These photographs will hold those moments for you. They will be proof that before you could even speak her name, you were known, you were cherished, you were loved beyond measure.

One day, when the world feels big, I hope you will look back at these images and remember that from your very first breath, you were her heart.

And you always will be ✨✨

The Lion’s Gate Portal peaks tomorrow. It is a p The Lion’s Gate Portal peaks tomorrow. It is a powerful cosmic alignment that takes place each year when the Sun is in Leo and the Earth aligns with Sirius, our brightest neighbouring star. Across ancient cultures, this moment has been honoured as a sacred time for reflection, healing, and transformation. A quiet opening for deeper awareness and meaningful change.

It invites us to pause and consider the kind of world we are shaping. A world where peace is not just a distant idea, but something we practice daily. Where kindness is lived. Where compassion, truth, and inclusion guide how we care for one another and raise the next generation.

Birth carries that same energy and opportunity as the Lion’s Gate portal. A maternity session is never just a photograph. It is a celebration of hope. A mother, rooted in quiet strength, imagines the world her child will grow into. She wishes for gentleness, for safety, for joy. She dreams of a future that honours the life she is about to bring into the world.

This is a time to soften the walls we have built around ourselves. To gently hold each other’s pain. To open the space for conversation, not to divide or blame, but to listen, to understand, and to make room for peace.

That is the quiet power of this moment. To step beyond ourselves. To act with tenderness. To create a world where all children are safe and seen.

May this Lion’s Gate remind us of the beautiful responsibility we carry. The chance to shape what comes next. To dream more openly. To love more deeply. To speak truth with care. And to walk gently, together, toward peace and unity.

The Moment v The Memory ✨✨ You think you’ll The Moment v The Memory ✨✨

You think you’ll remember it. The way they looked at you. The sound of their laugh. The warmth of a moment that felt small at the time but stayed with you long after.

But moments move quickly. They don’t wait for you to notice them. They pass in a breath, in a glance, in the space between what you planned and what actually happened. And if no one is paying close attention, if no one is truly seeing it as it unfolds, it can disappear without a trace.

That’s why trust matters. Not just someone with a camera, but someone who understands how your family connects. Someone who knows what to watch for and when to hold still. Someone who sees what you’ll want to remember before you even realise it’s happening.

You create the moment just by being together. But the memory depends on who you trust to capture it.

My first interaction with Sally was on Instagram. My first interaction with Sally was on Instagram. I remember seeing her in a fitted, long-sleeved baby blue dress, wearing the most radiant smile. That smile was in every photo. Joyful. Magnetic. It drew me in instantly.

And then last Tuesday night, when we met to celebrate her pregnancy journey, I saw that smile in real life and it was even more powerful.

Sally was diagnosed with breast cancer at just 8 weeks pregnant. She found a lump at 4 weeks. Though it could have been dismissed as pregnancy-related, her intuition told her otherwise. She pushed for answers. And in the weeks that followed, her world changed.

After our session, we sat together for over an hour, talking. About the strength it takes to keep going. About what it means to fight not just for yourself, but for the little life growing inside you.

There is a beautiful phenomenon that happens after a winter maternity session. Despite sitting half naked on the beach, if the energy is right, you do not feel the cold. The warmth comes from presence, from purpose, from something greater holding you in that moment. That is what it felt like with Sally.

I did my best to capture her courage, grace, and fierce love. But even the most beautiful photos cannot fully hold the depth of her journey.

Sally, the way you showed up was extraordinary. That same smile, the one that first drew me in, never left your face. It lit up everything around you.

One day, when you share this story with your son, he will know his mother is a warrior. That she walked through fire to bring him into the world with love and intention. And that through it all, she smiled.

As you move into the next phase of your treatment, know this. Your light, your spirit, your unshakable joy will carry you through. That smile of yours is not just beautiful. It is brave. And you carry with you the energy and strength of every mother on this journey.

If you would like to help more women like Sally, you can donate to @breastcancertrials or visit breastcancertrials.org.au

How do you say goodbye to the place that shaped yo How do you say goodbye to the place that shaped you?

This session was never just about capturing faces. It was about honouring a chapter that changed her forever.

After ten years of calling Sydney home, Eimear is returning to Ireland. Not the same woman who left, but someone transformed by love, by motherhood and by everything she built from the ground up here in Australia.

We chose Centennial Park for the session because it holds so much meaning. It is where she and Craig used to run together before the kids arrived and now it is where Jack, four, and baby Oonagh, eleven months, laugh and play. It is one of those places that quietly becomes part of your everyday until you realise it is stitched into the fabric of your story.

She leaves Australia not empty handed but full. Full of memories. Full of strength. Full of the life she created. Two beautiful children. A strong and loving marriage. A decade rich in friendships, milestones and meaning.

And equally, Sydney will miss Eimear right back. She has devoted her years here to helping young women in pain. When we spoke her love for her work at POWH was clear. Supporting women through chronic pain and helping them feel seen and understood gave her deep purpose. It also made the decision to leave all the more difficult.

These images are more than photographs. They are a tribute. A way to hold on to all she created. Because this was not just a farewell. It was a thank you. To Australia. To the woman she became. And to the journey that brought her home.

Eimear and Craig, it was a privilege to meet you and your beautiful family just weeks before your return to Ireland. I am so grateful to have captured this time for you and wish you the very best in the next phase of your journey.

So much of what I photograph happens outdoors. On So much of what I photograph happens outdoors. On the sand. In wide open spaces. Beneath soft skies. These places are more than just beautiful backdrops. They are part of the story. They hold memory. They hold meaning.

And long before we gathered here for family photos Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples lived in deep connection with this land. Country was and always will be teacher, protector and kin.

This week I pause to honour that truth. To acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the land I live and work on. And to thank them for their enduring care of this place so we too can create memories here.

Her beautiful chaos. Her perfectly imperfect. It Her beautiful chaos. Her perfectly imperfect.

It is never just about the photos. It is about pressing pause on the blur and capturing the truth of it all. Because this chapter, exactly as it is right now, will one day feel like a distant memory. And it deserves to be remembered.

If you look at these images and imagine yourself as Shaina, how could you not have them? The way Rafa looks at his new baby brother. The way Joshua nestles into her chest like he has always belonged there.

Now imagine if these were never taken. Imagine if they disappeared and all that remained was a hazy memory of how life felt in these early days.

Six-year-old Rafa, Four-year-old twins Lielle and Emmy. And baby Joshua. A home filled with movement, curiosity, cuddles, and the kind of love that spills into every corner even when the noise grows loud.

It was not always smooth. There were outfit changes. Last-minute questions. Tears. Wiggles. And all the beautiful unpredictability that comes with little ones. But that is what made it real. Woven through the mess was softness, laughter, and a kind of quiet magic that only a mother knows.

Shaina trusted the process. She took the leap. And now when she looks at these images, I hope she sees not just her children but the dream she brought to life.

One day she will look back and remember what it felt like to have a baby in her arms and three little ones dancing around her. The fullness. The exhaustion. The joy. The pride. And most of all, the love.

Because some moments are too meaningful to let pass you by…

Welcoming Baby Leonardo ✨✨ Carolina moved to Welcoming Baby Leonardo ✨✨

Carolina moved to Australia from Italy ten years ago, never imagining this would be where her story would truly begin.

She met Michael just as the world slowed down during COVID. In that quiet pause, something lasting began.

Michael is a developer. Carolina is an interior designer. And this is the third home they have worked on together. Each one has reflected a chapter in their journey. But this one feels different. This one holds more.

Because now, it also holds baby Leonardo.

Carolina designed this space with him in mind. Every room carries her warmth and intention. The soft light. The calming tones. The gentle flow. A home created to hold a little boy and the love that surrounds him.

As Michael walked me through the house, his pride in her was unmistakable. He spoke with such admiration about the choices she made and the beauty she brought to life. He told me, while they chose the houses together, only Carolina can make it a home.

Her mum Tania is visiting from Italy to meet her first grandson and I had the absolute joy of speaking with Nonna in Italian during our session. I especially loved hearing the beautiful rhythm of conversation between Carolina and Tania. It reminded me of my own roots and by the end of our time together, I felt like I had known them all for years.

What better place to welcome a baby than this. A home built with heart. A space already full of love.

Welcoming Baby Aethelwulf ✨✨ In the beginning Welcoming Baby Aethelwulf ✨✨

In the beginning, they do not know they are separate from you. You are one. Your arms are their home. Your breath sets the rhythm for theirs. They do not reach for you. They simply rest in you, because they have never known anything else.

Aethelwulf is still in that place. That sacred, precious space where he melts into his mother as though she is part of him. And for now, Tara is.

The night before this session, he woke often, feeding nearly every hour. But more than milk, he needed her. Her warmth. Her heartbeat. The comfort of being held close. It was her presence that settled him. Her touch that told him he was safe.

Soon, the feeds will stretch. He will start to reach beyond her arms. He will want to be put down, to crawl, to run. His world will grow beyond the space between Tara and Cam’s collarbone and chin. But not yet.

For now, he still folds into her like he belongs there. And these photographs will remember what time will gently take.

Not just how small he was. But how deeply he was held. How completely he was known. And how, even though the umbilical cord has been cut, there is still no space between them. He snuggles into her as if they are still one.

There is something fitting in his name. Aethelwulf, the noble wolf. A name once carried by kings and warriors. A name that speaks of strength, courage and quiet leadership. And yet even the noble begin here, small and soft, completely held.

If this season is unfolding in your life too, I would be honoured to tell your story. Not just what it looked like, but what it felt like. The weight of their head on your chest. The way their fingers curl around yours. The quiet moments that pass too quickly. That is what I see. That is what I hold still. And that is what I would love to give back to you in your session.

Time moves quickly. If this is your season, now is the moment to hold onto it. Just two newborn sessions left for July 2025 so dont miss out!
