Celebrating Mor in her Two Crowns Session. Work an Celebrating Mor in her Two Crowns Session. Work and motherhood.

The start of a new year carries a quiet reset. School bags by the door. Lunch boxes packed again.

It feels like a line in the sand. Not just for them, but for us.

So many mums hold two crowns at once. Building careers. Raising families. Carrying everyone forward while quietly putting themselves on pause.

Our children are always watching. Not just how hard we work, but how we care for ourselves. How we listen to our bodies. How we respond when life gives us the chance to begin again.

Mor’s story lives right in this moment. After a doctor told her something many women hear, often too late. She needed to take better care of her body. That conversation became a turning point.

Through Pilates, Mor found more than strength. She found reconnection. To her body. To herself. To a new path.

She is now finishing her Pilates instructor course and preparing to offer small group classes, with a focus on outdoor sessions by the beach. Gentle strength. Intentional movement. Care that fits into real life.

As our kids head back to school and routines return, this season offers us an opening too. A chance to choose ourselves without guilt. To model something powerful. That health matters. That listening matters. That starting again is allowed.

Two crowns can coexist. Motherhood and self respect. Work and wellbeing. Care for others and care for self.

And sometimes the New Year is not about becoming someone new. It is about finally making space for who you already are.

If you are ready for your 2 Crowns session, reach out today.

Welcoming Baby Paige + Willow Twins are more com Welcoming Baby Paige + Willow

Twins are more common than people realise. In Australia, around one in every 70 births is a set of twins, at POWP Maternity, this drops down to 1 in every 65 births. We see them everywhere now, and yet each one still feels like a small miracle. Two lives arriving side by side, already learning the rhythm of each other.

In 2025, I photographed five sets of twins, and each time I noticed the same gentle truth. Each bond has its own shape, its own language, its own way of moving through the world together.

There is a name for the way twins find each other before words do. Cryptophasia. It lives in sounds, looks, and small gestures. Understanding formed through constant closeness and time spent side by side, long before the wider world steps in and teaches them how to speak. It is how they say, I know you. I am here. I felt this in every twin session. Time and again, when given the chance, they reached for each other’s hands. Imagine beginning life with that kind of certainty. That kind of closeness.

To Storm and Dave, thank you for trusting me to capture this moment with all your beautiful girls. And to Harper, the sweetest big sister. So gentle, so sure, so full of love it felt as though she had always been waiting for them. It is no wonder the universe sent this family two more girls. They already knew how to make one feel perfectly held.

If you are looking to book a Newborn session with me I am now almost fully booked until March 2026 so please reach out early because I’m keen to make your baby’s entry into this world extra special.

Introducing ‘The First Hours’ Session at POWP Mate Introducing ‘The First Hours’ Session at POWP Maternity ✨✨

You will always remember the day your child was born. That memory belongs to you forever. Nothing can take it away. But memories can soften with time and fade around the edges.

There is something powerful about having something tangible to return to. A photograph does not replace a memory. It holds it in place. It gives it shape years later when you are trying to remember how small they were, how they fit against your chest, how the room felt when everything else fell away and it was just you and them.

We instinctively document the days that matter. We photograph weddings, milestones and celebrations because we know how quickly life moves. The day your child enters the world is no different. In many ways, it is the most important day of all.

In those first hours after birth, you are not polished. You are in a hospital gown. You are tired, but you are flooded with endorphins, and the only thing you feel is love. The only thing you see is your baby. In that moment, everything resets. You are given a clean slate.

One day, your child will be grown. Taller than you. Their hands no longer fitting inside yours. You will remember the day they were born. And you will have something to show them. Proof of just how deeply loved they were from the very beginning.

Pictured here is baby Rafferty, just four hours old. He knew no world beyond his mum and dad’s skin, and he is loved beyond measure. It is always a privilege, but this session is one I will never forget. These are the photographs I wish I had from those earliest hours with my own girls, and it is the reason I want to create this experience for other families. Thank you, Raffi, for inspiring this session.

This moment happens only once. Having these images allows that beginning to live on, not just in memory, but in something you can hold and one day share.

If an in room ‘The First Hours’ session is something that interests you, or if you are looking for a meaningful gift as a grandparent, family member or friend please reach out to find out how we can make this happen.
Welcoming baby Maya ✨✨ We often believe there wil Welcoming baby Maya ✨✨

We often believe there will be another moment. Another chance to go again.

In Jay Kelly, a successful movie star confronts his past, his strained relationships, and the legacy of a life lived in the spotlight. At the very end, he asks, “Can we go again?” as if his life were just another take in a film. The question lingers because it comes too late. It holds the realisation that the moment has already passed, that what mattered most was unfolding quietly while his attention was elsewhere.

That question is why photography matters to me.

Life does not slow down for us to notice it. Pregnancy moves forward in its own rhythm, a body changing day by day, holding life for a brief and extraordinary season. Children grow slowly and then all at once. Their sweet voices deepen. Their single words turn into sentences, and one day they pronounce a word correctly that they once said wrong. A version of them fades before we even realise it is happening.

Families change shape almost without warning. One day you look up and sense that the season you were living in has already shifted. I felt this with my own girls just over the summer break.

When I photograph mothers and families, I am not only trying to freeze time. I am paying close attention before it moves on. To the softness. The closeness. The love that feels ordinary now but will one day live only in memory.

So let 2026 be the year you choose not to wait. The year you notice what is here. The year you allow your precious moments to be remembered.

I am now fully booked until mid February 2026, so please reach out if you would like to make 2026 the year you invest in your family’s memories ✨✨

There is a quiet sensuality to pregnancy that ofte There is a quiet sensuality to pregnancy that often goes unspoken. The softness, the confidence, the way a woman settles more fully into her body as it becomes a place of creation. Shani, you radiate this. There is an ease in the way you move, a warmth in the way you hold yourself, a presence that fills the space around you.

Something I found out recently is that as he grows, tiny cells move between you and him through the placenta. Your body sends cells to support his life, and some of his cells return to you, becoming part of you too. A physical connection that begins now and stays long after this season ends.

My sessions are never about capturing a bump. I wanted to honour the way you glow, the quiet strength in your body, and the way you are already his home.

Thank you to Shani and Taz for choosing me to capture this moment in time as you await the arrival of your baby.
Over the last few days, as we prepare to send our Over the last few days, as we prepare to send our girls back to school, I have felt like my heart is living in a thousand tiny places at once.

As we prepared for my eldest daughter, Charli to return back to school, there are the soft conversations about new classrooms and unfamiliar teachers to help prepare her emotionally for the transition. The grocery orders to make sure their favourite snacks are there when they open their bags. The labelling of e.v.e.r.y little thing, the spare clothes tucked away, the invisible work we do to make their big world feel a little easier and familiar.

This morning, like every parent, as I walked out of the school gates, I whispered a prayer for her. For her safety. For her to be kind. For her to feel brave. For her to grow and thrive in the place we have chosen for her.

The holidays have seen moments of pure magic and rainbows. And there were also days I was completely spent from being a constant snack provider and activity organiser for two little girls. Days when I wondered quietly if I am getting any of this right at all. I know so many mums carry that same question in their hearts.

My mind went back to a beautiful session late last year with this gorgeous family, the Diamonds. Their two boys were gentle with each other, funny, and deeply kind. Watching them interact was absolute magic and I really did think about what an incredible job these amazing parents were doing raising these boys. Maybe somewhere between modelling the behaviour we hope to see, labelling lunchboxes, and praying over them as they walk into the world, I think that is the quiet proof that we are doing okay.

So as my eldest heads back today and my youngest follows next week, my heart is with every parent standing at the school gates. May every child feel safe, protected and held in the places they learn and grow.

Welcoming baby Ilaria ✨✨ There is something deepl Welcoming baby Ilaria ✨✨

There is something deeply meaningful about returning to photograph the same mum across two moments in time. A maternity session is filled with possibility, a quiet pause to honour what is coming and the life about to change forever.

Coming back for the newborn session, everything felt different. Steph radiated gratitude and was completely present, savouring every moment with baby Ilaria. She had endured a difficult birth, something she has bravely shared on her own page, and while you would never know it just by looking at her because she was absolutely glowing, you could feel it in the room. The way she held Ilaria with such calm and intention. The quiet looks exchanged between her and Gian. The way this little family moved together with such depth and connection. Adversity has a way of connecting and binding, deepening love in ways nothing else can.

Every story is different, but the coming together of a family is always extraordinary. These sessions are never just about photographs. They are about holding space for a season that passes so quickly yet changes everything forever.

Thank you @stephjoottavio and @gianottavio for trusting me with something so personal. It is a privilege I am deeply grateful for.

Celebrating Dionne with 2 Crowns ✨✨ I have known Celebrating Dionne with 2 Crowns ✨✨

I have known of Dionne for a few years through the magical parties she created and because our children were in the same class. A few months ago she asked if I could photograph an event for her, and watching her that day stayed with me. I saw the love she puts into every detail, the calm way she works and the joy she brings to families. Her work comes straight from the heart.

Dionne is the soul behind Only Play, a business that creates imaginative, thoughtful and beautifully curated experiences for children. She takes away the pressure parents carry and replaces it with ease, wonder and memories that become part of a family’s story.

After her event, I knew I wanted her for my daughter’s Frozen themed party. What she gave me that day is something I will always hold close. As a working mum, I am not always as present as I want to be. But because of her, I spent the entire day simply being with my daughter. No organising, no rushing, just holding her and soaking in her joy. That gift of presence is something she gives to every mother she works with.

Her Two Crowns session felt deeply special because it allowed me to honour her in return. These sessions celebrate the woman and the mother, the two crowns she wears with such grace. Having her children, Jordie and Mikalya, join us made it even more meaningful. They often see the planning and the lists, but this time they saw the magic itself. They saw their mum’s creativity and the joy she gives to so many families.

It was a privilege to capture her in that light and to reflect the beauty she brings into the world.

Are you a working mum who wants to share your world with your children and show them the magic you create? Reach out today and we can start planning your session from February 2026.

Tonight at bedtime, as I lay beside my four year o Tonight at bedtime, as I lay beside my four year old and waited for her to fall asleep, against all wisdom and parenting advice, she turned to me and said that she had been sad at preschool today because she missed me. Then she told me that her best friend Zara had said, “You don’t have to be sad, because your mummy and your hearts are one.”

And whilst this might sound childish, I believe her. I believe this not as a sweet idea but as a quiet and unshakeable truth. For eight months and three weeks our heartbeats lived side by side, two steady rhythms sharing the same small world. That closeness did not end when she was born. It is carried into every day that followed, into the way she looks for me, into the way she knows me, into the way her heart finds its calm.

I believe this is true for every child and every mother. There is a bond formed long before words, long before memory, long before the world has had a chance to shape them. A connection that does not fade simply because a child grows, or steps into new spaces, or begins to understand separation. The hearts remember. The love remains.

And to Lozzy and her little boy, still on his way, already known, already loved, already held close in ways words cannot measure. May your hearts be forever one. May that first shared rhythm carry him gently through life and always be held by the invisible thread that binds him back to the one who first gave him life.

This is the quiet truth of motherhood. That even when our children learn to stand apart, to step into their own light, their hearts still know the way back. They always will.

Welcoming baby Thea at POWP Maternity ✨✨ In life Welcoming baby Thea at POWP Maternity ✨✨

In life there are only a few moments that stop time. The kind of moments where the world becomes quiet and the meaning of everything shifts. Photographing newborns for a little while now has taught me how rare those moments are, but working in the rooms at POWP Maternity has shown me that they often appear in the very first hours of a new life, before anyone has caught their breath.

Just this week, I captured an eight year old boy meeting his baby sister for the first time. He stepped into the room and everything in him changed. The instant he saw her he held his breath. His eyes filled with tears he did not yet understand. He looked at her with the kind of wonder that only happens once. He may forget that moment as he grows older but his parents now have it preserved forever.

I saw a baby boy who was only four hours old, resting in his parents arms as they held him against their skin. Their tear filled eyes met often during our session with a joy that felt too big for words. I captured a rainbow baby being welcomed into the world with overwhelming love. I saw families realising in real time that life had just expanded in ways they could not have imagined the day before.

Those first hours and days are filled with emotion that is raw and honest and beautiful. They are filled with moments that happen once and never repeat. Every family arrives with a different story and I tailor an experience to each family in that same way. Every session is created around what this moment means to you.

These moments do not wait. They do not come back. If you want your family to hold on to the very beginning of your story, reach out today.

Thank you to Sammi and Tim for the honour of being able to capture this special time for them as they welcome their baby Thea at POWP Maternity.

Celebrating Duha’s Motherhood journey ✨✨ The time Celebrating Duha’s Motherhood journey ✨✨

The time leading up to meeting your first baby holds a beauty all its own. It is the space between who you were and who you are becoming. When I photographed Duha in this moment, I saw that quiet mix of strength and surrender in her eyes, that calm before everything changes. Everyone will have something to say, but deep down you already carry the wisdom you need. It is ancient and instinctive and it will rise when you need it most.

Motherhood is not something you master from the start, or if we are honest, ever really at all. It is something you grow into. The late nights, the tears, the small victories, they all become part of the journey. You learn as you go. You build your confidence one quiet moment at a time. The lessons reveal themselves slowly, shaping you as you grow alongside your baby.

Today carries a special energy. It is 1111, a moment of alignment and awakening, a reminder to trust the path you are on. Spiritually, 1111 represents new beginnings and intuition. It asks us to pause and remember that we are guided, supported and exactly where we are meant to be.

As you step into motherhood, that same alignment lives within you. The timing, the love and the unfolding of it all are not by chance. Everything you need is already within you, waiting to be remembered. As your baby grows, so does your strength, your wisdom and your light. This is the beginning of both your stories, beautifully intertwined and perfectly timed.

Looking forward to capturing you with your little one in just a few months time.

Welcoming baby Leo at POWP Maternity ✨✨ I’m deepl Welcoming baby Leo at POWP Maternity ✨✨

I’m deeply committed to supporting mums and making sure you feel seen, valued and cared for.

When our daughter Charli was born at POWP Maternity I was completely wrapped in the moment and hardly recorded anything. Those days live vividly in my mind, but I would give anything to hold something tangible and return to them again. That time is unlike any other. It slips quietly between feeds, cuddles and first looks, and before you know it those tiny details have already changed.

In room sessions at POWP Maternity are designed to hold on to that magic. You do not have to think about taking photos or trying to remember everything yourself. I will gently capture the story of your first days together so you can return to it whenever you wish, the light, the feeling, the love that filled the room.

Luke and Jess welcomed their beautiful boy Leo at POWP Maternity and trusted me to capture their early days as a family. There was such warmth and quiet strength in the way they looked at him, a love that words could never quite describe. These are the moments that deserve to be remembered, real, honest, raw and full of heart.

These sessions are your family’s first time capsule. They are a chance to pause time just for a moment before life moves forward and those newborn days become memories. I do this because I wish I had done it for myself and I want every family to have the chance to keep this part of their story forever.

I’ve had inquiries lately from a lot of mums with I’ve had inquiries lately from a lot of mums with older kids. The baby years feel like a lifetime ago, and the house feels different now. There’s more calm, more space, but also a quiet ache that sits beneath it all.

You start to notice how much has changed. The toys stay where they’re left. The bedtime stories end sooner. Their faces are leaner, their voices stronger, their hugs a little shorter.

Sometimes you catch a glimpse of who they used to be. The way they still reach for your hand when they’re tired. The way they still look for you in a crowd. And for a moment it all comes rushing back.

So many mums tell me they wish they’d booked the photos when their little ones were smaller. They thought there would always be more time.

It’s not too late, but it won’t be like this forever. These are the last chapters of the little years, the in-between moments that fade quietly while we’re busy living them.

I’m fully booked until 2026, but I’ll be releasing 10 final sunset sessions tomorrow for families who don’t want to look back and wish they’d held onto this time just a little longer.
Welcoming baby Arlo ✨✨ So many mothers have a bir Welcoming baby Arlo ✨✨

So many mothers have a birth plan. A vision of how they hope those first moments will unfold. Sometimes it happens just as imagined, and sometimes it takes a completely different path. But it is all part of the story. Whether a baby arrives through the sunroof, at home, or with the help of medicine in a hospital, every journey is its own kind of sacred.

Both my girls were born by planned Caesarean for two very different medical reasons. And I love that this was our beginning. It taught me that birth is not defined by where or how it happens, but by the love that surrounds it.

When I met baby Arlo at just a week old, I could feel the calm the moment I stepped into the room. The same space where he had been born only days earlier. The same soft light. The fairy lights still glowing gently in the background, as if the room itself remembered.

Every birth tells its own story. The same mother can experience two completely different beginnings, each one beautiful in its own way. And just as her story shifts between children, so too does every woman’s journey. Yet in every story, there is strength, surrender, and love.

We took Arlo’s photos in the very space where they became a family of four. The air carried a quiet kind of magic. It reminded me that birth does not end with the first breath. Its echo lingers in the love that fills a home and in the gentle truth that if times get hard, or in our happiest moments, we can return to our new beginning at any time we like.

Welcoming baby Sofia ✨✨ Every mum has a moment wh Welcoming baby Sofia ✨✨

Every mum has a moment when she realises she is a mum. For me, it was in the hospital. I woke from a nap, facing towards my right, and saw her in the little crib beside me. For a moment I just watched her, perfectly still, and thought to myself, ‘shit, I have a baby girl’ followed quickly by ‘Who thought it was a good idea to give me this kind of responsibility.’

And yet there she was, tiny and real, breathing her way into my life. The world had shifted, and I was no longer just me. I was hers. Everything before that moment had led me here. You never feel ready, but somehow you become exactly who you need to be.

I thought of that feeling again when I walked into Bianca and Peter’s home. Peter opened the door, smiling with pride, maybe still wondering what a newborn session even was, but already certain he would do anything for his little girl, Sofia. Upstairs, Bianca sat calmly feeding Sofia, sunlight slipping softly through the blinds.

I stopped for a moment when I saw her, completely in awe. The air was thick with the kind of love that takes your breath away. The bond between mother and child is something you do not just see, you feel. It fills the room like light.

I am so grateful to have been in their home that day, surrounded by the warmth, pride, and quiet devotion that filled every corner. What a privilege to witness the beginning of their story and welcome Sofia to the word in this way.

Welcoming baby Sabina ✨✨ There are moments that q Welcoming baby Sabina ✨✨

There are moments that quietly divide your life into before and after. Becoming a mother is one of them. You expect it to be profound, but nothing prepares you for the way it truly changes you.

I still remember that moment my first born, Charli arrived. The air felt different. The world suddenly smaller and wider all at once. There was relief, joy, disbelief, and something deeper that I still can’t fully articulate. Holding her for the first time felt like the world had been waiting for this one heartbeat.

Then the rhythm of life began again. Days blending into nights, the room filled with soft cries and quiet breathing. You promise yourself you’ll remember everything. The way her fingers rested on your chest, the smell of her skin, the warmth of her body against yours. You think those moments are too powerful to ever fade.

But time has its own quiet pace. It doesn’t ask permission to move forward. Just this week, Sabina’s mum, Cassie, shared a photo of her on socials, and I had to look twice. She has grown so much in the few short weeks since our session. You think it’s just a few weeks, what could possibly change? The answer is everything. The clock keeps ticking, and it never stops.

That is why I believe in capturing these moments. Not for perfection, but for truth. Because photographs hold what memory can’t always keep. They let us return, again and again, to the place where love began to take shape.

As mothers, we learn that the smallest things are often the ones that matter most. The tilt of her head, the sound of her sigh, the way the light fell across her face that morning. These are the pieces that build our story. And when life moves faster than we can hold it, it brings peace to know that these moments remain safe somewhere, waiting for us to find them again.

If only we could bottle every season of motherhood If only we could bottle every season of motherhood.

There was a time, and it’s almost embarrassing to admit now, but I remember having this quick thought cross my mind that maybe I had finally crossed some invisible threshold. My firstborn Charli had started sleeping through the night, seven to seven, and for a brief moment it felt like I could breathe again. But like everything, good and bad, it is just a season. Within months she was waking at five in the morning and has ever since. Somehow even that became its own kind of rhythm.

Motherhood asks us to keep changing. To keep remoulding ourselves as they grow. Just when we think we have found our rhythm, it shifts again. And in that shifting we are reminded that nothing stays still for long.

This gorgeous little girl in this session is called Zoe. She could easily be mistaken for an angel, the kind of kid who brings a smile to everyone around her. And not to say that Zac was not just as much of an angel, because he truly was, running amok among the sunlit trees, collecting his own kind of magic. But one day, though it is hard to imagine, they will both grow. There will be eye rolls and closed doors and maybe moments when they tell their mum Lisa that she does not understand.

But Lisa already has her reminder. She has these photographs. Proof of a love that fills every frame. Proof that even when words fail, love does not. Proof that she is loved beyond measure and that her children are too.

Because that is what these photographs become, an anchor when the noise gets loud, a memory of the tenderness and a quiet reminder of what is real. Or in other words, it is proof of love, just in case their bedroom door ever slams shut 🫣🤣

To the mothers in every season of their motherhood journey, may you never forget how love looked on you.

I have never heard a journey to motherhood story t I have never heard a journey to motherhood story that had objectively perfect timing. That everything was ready, that the family home was settled, that all the money was there, that the heart was prepared, and that nine months later a perfect little baby arrived exactly as planned in a painless, natural birth.

Maybe it happens. But in most of the families I have met, and in all the mothers who have stood before my camera, I have learned that the journey to motherhood rarely follows a straight line. It is a path shaped by love, uncertainty and grace.

We plan and we dream, but life unfolds in its own rhythm. We learn to carry both strength and softness. Each of our stories is written differently, yet all are bound by one quiet truth that love always finds a way.

Especially during October, as we recognise Infant Loss Awareness Month, our hearts are with the families who have walked through loss, longing and love all at once.

We chose Balmoral for this session because it holds a special place in Monique and Parrish’s story. It was where they had planned to take their wedding photos, but the rain had other ideas. Now, five years later, standing here again with soon to be big brother Archie and waiting for their baby girl, it feels beautifully full circle. Life has a tender way of turning what once felt imperfect into something complete.

Everything meant for you will always find you, often in ways more perfect than you could ever have imagined. And when you finally arrive, when you hold what you once only dreamed of, you begin to understand why the journey was yours all along.

Thank you to Monique, Parrish and Archie for allowing me to pause time for you, to celebrate your story, and to honour the love that holds your family together.
